The design of my drawing of the two cities looks like an emblem. It speaks of a relationship that was formed to help the needy. We share a heart with Shanghai in giving and this heart guides our hands to perform good deeds. The emblem is just like a badge collected by a Girl Guide after offering her time and effort in community service.
In this drawing, my country, Singapore, is a beautiful garden city. It is filled with lush and healthy plants. I chose to draw the Vanda Miss Joaquim in my one-line drawing because it is our national flower. The Merlion, the Changi International Airport Control Tower and the Singapore Flyer are some of the tourist attractions in Singapore.
Hence, the dragon symbolizes China and the Oriental Pearl Tower is the iconic building of Shanghai. Besides the magnificent buildings, the beautiful flower, 白玉兰花, is also an awesome sight when it blooms in Shanghai. Thus, I added the lovely white flower to say that Shanghai is also a garden city.
I hope this drawing can make all Singaporeans and Shanghai people proud and honoured in doing charity.
